Administration of winter service activities involves the planning and organization of many functions of road agencies and requires significant resources. Winter service is part of the operational strategy of Road Administrations. Each road user observe the state of the road in winter when driving. Also actions taken can be seen easily, like a snowplough on the road. Winter service actions have to be coordinated well for an optimum result. Winter maintenance management is about this coordination and topic of this session.
