Chair : Mr. Margo BRIESSINCK, Chair of PIARC TC 4.1, Belgium

This session deals with resilience of road pavements. TC 4.1 "Pavements" is preparing a collection of case studies on this topic. Some of these case studies will be be presented during this session. Climate change can have an adverse influence on the behavior of pavements, such as impacts from extreme temperatures or flooding. Three of the four case studies presented will deal with impacts from climate change effects. Resilience of pavements can also be related to a change of traffic, such as a result of truck platooning. The last presentation in this session will discuss the resilience aspects of this topic.
