Keynote on Resilience
Thursday, February 10 16:00 - 17:00 (Calgary) | Exhibition Hall
Our shared challenge: Resilient transport systems
Keynote Presentation by: Dr. Jean Andrey
The keynote presentation begins by engaging the audience on the concept and different categories of resilience, after which the focus shifts to road transport systems in the context of climate change. Emphasis is placed on the need for road transport authorities to be more intentional and expedient in building resilience of different kinds into transportation decisions. Resilience in the sector is then illustrated by drawing on the author’s own work, published reports, and abstracts for the current conference. The presentation ends by looking at the broader context of change in society and reflections on how to recognize resilience in action.
